Will it float? Price added for student track, application deadline extended

Adults and students who submit business ideas to Will This Float? contest will now be eligible for a cash prize.

Adults will compete for a prize of $5,000 (which was previously announced), and now students will compete for a prize of $500.

“We wanted to incentivize students with real money, and the requirement is for The Company Lab to help ensure funds flow back into the students’ business idea,” said CO’s director of communications. .LAB, Chloe Morrison.

Potential candidates also now have more time to register for the pitch competition.

The new deadline for adult and student pathways is September 30.

Powered by The Double Cola Company, Will This Float? is a chance for seasoned and aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch ideas related to consumer packaged goods, i.e. products. Think clothes, food, electronics, cosmetics – anything you would buy in a store.

Anyone with an idea can apply here. It is not necessary to have a prototype.

If selected, entrepreneurs will work on a three to five minute pitch, with assistance from CO.LAB.

The event is scheduled for October 17 and is free and open to the public. Members of the public can register here. Registration is not required, but is preferred to facilitate the planning process.

Double Cola celebrates 100 years in business and Will This Float? serves as the culmination of this observance. “Reserve a spot for free today so you don’t miss out on the swag and delicious Double Cola floats,” the officials said.
