Wake County website down, alternative COVID sites

The Wake County website has been offline for about 10 hours Tuesday, leaving some worried about getting tested for COVID-19 before Christmas.

“We are having technical difficulties with our website and we are working hard to resolve it as quickly as possible” Wake County tweeted. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience! ”

Although they cannot directly access the Wake County website, people can still register for a COVID-19 vaccine or test.

People can also find testing and vaccine options on the state’s website at https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/vaccinesand https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/about-covid-19/testing

As of Tuesday morning, Wake County had about 8,000 test appointments open before Christmas, according to a Wake County spokesperson.
