The Whole Kids Foundation 2022 Garden Grant application window is now open


Schools in the United States and Canada invited to apply for $3,000 grants to support edible educational spaces

AUSTIN, Texas, February 14, 2022 / 3BL Media / — Whole Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving child nutrition and well-being, has opened its annual Garden Grant window to provide financial support schools that want to start or develop edible educational spaces. Now through March 11, K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations in the United States and Canada are invited to apply for grants of $3,000 each to support their edible learning spaces. Grants will be awarded in the fall of 2022.

Through the Foundation’s Garden Grant program, schools and nonprofits are transforming outdoor spaces into powerful, hands-on learning gardens that connect children to food, spark their curiosity, and support the school curriculum. These spaces have had an especially big impact during COVID-19, when many schools and nonprofits have used edible education spaces as socially distanced outdoor classrooms.

The application window is open until Friday, March 11, 2022, 5 p.m. CST.

The Whole Kids Foundation’s Garden Grant program is one of the nonprofit’s longest running annual grant programs and has provided more than $15,500,000 in grants to support more than 7,000 learning spaces. edible since 2011.
