We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate application environment engineering specialist to perform daily activities/audits to ensure availability and stability of pre-service environments. -production, and configure and implement application/infrastructure solutions in new or existing pre-production environments to meet business needs to meet customer expectations. Collaborate with OLG stakeholders and our external vendors to ensure application/infrastructure solution designs drive desired business outcomes. Responsible for controlling the activities of a dynamic and tightly integrated environment supporting enterprise-wide development and testing activities.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Attached to the Sr Manager Application Environment Engineering, you will be required to:
Perform daily activities/audits to ensure availability and stability of pre-production environments
Main point of contact and coordinator for all aspects of the test environment (i.e. configuration, code installation and troubleshooting)
Support various solution configuration activities including implementation/configuration of new solutions, changes to existing systems, technical fixes during subsequent testing and validation of integrations
Collaborate with various technology departments, business partners, project managers, vendors and other third parties to identify and diagnose issues with existing applications and infrastructure.
Restore normal operations in a timely and accurate manner and escalate where appropriate
Develop, configure and implement project software package (i.e. command, latest versions, distribution files, etc.)
Collaborate with Architecture, Solution Delivery and Operations to identify and implement automation tools and processes to support increased agility and speed of pre-production environments
Review project documentation and provide technical expertise to ensure proper use of pre-production environments
Champion and participate in activities that will transform build, manage, and deploy processes in pre-production environments using automation
Participate in the preparation of architectural changes, solution design and technical specifications through the release management process cycles (ITIL, SDLC)
Document and maintain concise, well-written procedures for managing and resolving pre-production infrastructure issues
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Professional experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in medium to large technology environments. Minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting, deploying and/or delivering application/solution infrastructure. Proficiency in twelve (12) of the above core skill areas listed above. Provide subject matter expertise and/or guidance to a team.
Education: Post-secondary degree, preferably in an information systems discipline, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Primary knowledge around: VMS and UNIX/AIX operating system. Linux and Windows operating system. Pre-production environment tools. VMS scripting languages and tools. Sybase database SQL scripts/data access tools. Environment automation tools. Data movement tools. Middleware application configurations. Web services tools. Integration of systems and technologies. Configuration of mobile technologies (Android and IOS). SQL scripting/database data access tools. System deployment and release management tools. Networking (tools and utilities). System development life cycle. Technological architecture. Cloud Computing/Virtualization Technologies. Information system security concepts. Technical troubleshooting. Document management
Secondary knowledge around: Data governance. Programming languages. Shell scripts under UNIX/Linux/Windows.
