KUCHING, November 16 – The online candidacy for postal voting for Sarawak State’s 12th election for Malaysians living abroad and those in the security and health sectors is open from November 8 to 24 .
Election Commission (EC) secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said the request only concerned categories of voters on Form 1B (Malaysian citizens who are abroad) and Form 1C (nine agencies in the safety and health).
“Regarding the Form 1A category postal vote request (election officers, EC members / officers, police, military and media personnel), details will be communicated later.
“Applications should be made online through the MySPR Daftar website at the following link https://mysprdaftar.spr.gov.my/ or the official EC portal, https://www.spr.gov.my/” , he said in a statement today.
Ikmalrudin said applicants are also encouraged to apply in advance to avoid any issues or difficulties.

On November 3, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah agreed to the lifting of the state of emergency in Sarawak which took effect on August 2.
The lifting of the emergency proclamation indirectly paves the way for elections in Sarawak state, following the end of the term of the state legislature on June 6.
The EC will convene a special meeting regarding the 12th election of Sarawak State on November 24 in Kuching. – Bernama
