IGNOU MBA application window open

The application link for admission to the January 2022 session of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is open. The MBA program, offered by the School of Management Studies (SOMS) IGNOU is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The university’s online MBA program was designed with the goal of reaching the unreached and providing quality inclusive education.

Candidates who have obtained an undergraduate degree with 50% marks will be able to register online for the AICTE-approved IGNOU MBA program. For reserved category applicants, students scoring 45% will be eligible to apply. There will be no entrance test.





The minimum duration of the program, according to an IGNOU statement, is two years and the maximum period to complete the course is four years. Learners, the statement adds, must take 28 courses spread over four semesters and will have 116 credits.

Professor Nayantara Padhi (Program Coordinator) pointed out that “the MBA program has multiple benefits and will be beneficial for learners to acquire knowledge about traditional and latest management concepts and apply them in practice”.

It has a contemporary curriculum and the latest course materials and was designed by industry experts and renowned academics, according to the IGNOU statement.

The IGNOU MBA program will offer five different specializations: human resource management, financial management, marketing management, operations management and service management.

With affordable fees, the program is offered all over India and some foreign countries.

SOMS, IGNOU, has also collaborated with the Indian Institute of Banking Finance (IIBF) and offers an MBA in Banking and Finance (MBF).

Eligibility criteria

Successful Baccalaureate of a minimum duration of 3 years with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category);

Candidates must have passed the CAIIB examinations of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai, and have obtained the qualification/credentials required by the Institute.

The candidate must have worked in the banking or financial services industry for at least two years.
