The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal will be open on Monday, July 25, 2022 to allow inter-institutional transfer applications for students placed in various universities, colleges and TVET institutions.
According to the Chief Executive, Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, the handover exercise will end on August 24, 2022.
Inter-institutional transfers are the last step in the student placement process, during which students who have gained admission into universities, colleges and TVET institutions through KUCCPS are allowed to permanently transfer from one institution to another if they wish.
Applications will be submitted online through the KUCCPS Students.kuccps.net portal under the “Transfers” tab.
“For a transfer request to be accepted, a candidate must be eligible for the programs to which they wish to transfer, in addition to meeting the applicable thresholds,” said Agnes.
In addition, a transfer request must be approved by both the receiving institution and the sending institution, which have been authorized to do so online. Thus, students will not have to physically go to the establishments.
“Applicants will be able to track the progress of their applications through the portal and once approved, transfer letters will be posted on the portal for applicants to download,” Agnes added.
Application guidelines will be posted on the application portal prior to the start of the exercise.
