ILLINOIS — The Illinois Pork Producers Association has released its annual undergraduate scholarship applications, according to association information.

All applications must be received by 4 p.m. on March 1. Applications are accepted by mail or e-mail.

The Illinois Pork Producers Association proudly awards nine students with a scholarship each school year. Three levels are awarded: (3) gold scholarships at $2,000 each; (3) Silver scholarships at $1,500 each; (3) Bronze scholarships at $1,000 each. Funding for these scholarships is made possible by the Keppy Foundation. Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or enrolling to start in Fall 2022 to be eligible. IPPA scholarships are open to students pursuing any undergraduate degree at any two- or four-year college. Previous winners can apply again. Applications can be submitted by mail or email.

The IPPA annually hosts the Adam Fesser Fellowship, which is sponsored by the Mid-Illinois Pork Producers Association. A prize of $1,000 will be awarded. Applicants must be undergraduates at a university/college or community college for the Fall 2021 semester=2. Applicants must also have been a 4-H or FFA member and a resident of Illinois. Students applying for the Adam Fesser Scholarship must complete an application form and typed essay identifying why they wish to pursue a career in agriculture, as well as providing transcripts, a list of accomplishments and activities and a statement of financial need. Applications will be reviewed by the Adam Fesser Scholarship Committee to determine the winner. Applications can be submitted by mail or email. If you have already won this scholarship, you are not eligible to apply again.

Ryan and Friends Scholarship

The IPPA annually hosts the Ryan & Friends Scholarship, which is sponsored by the Purebred Swine Council. This scholarship will award a total of four $2,000 scholarships. Applicants must be undergraduates at a university/college or community college for the fall 2022 semester. Applicants must also have been 4-H or FFA members. Students applying for the Ryan and Friends Scholarship must complete an application form and typed essay identifying why they wish to pursue a career in production agriculture, as well as provide transcripts, a list of accomplishments and activities and a statement of financial need. The best applicants will be called for interviews by the Ryan & Friends Scholarship Committee.
