Do everything you can to ensure the safety of those who are dear to you.
Getting together to celebrate our traditions with family and friends is important. Especially after what we all went through last year. But just as important is being smart about the way we celebrate. COVID-19 is not taking a vacation. Do everything you can to ensure the safety of those who are dear to you.
Follow these recommendations:
- To get vaccinated for COVID-19 before meeting with family or friends.
- Wear a face mask. Unvaccinated family members, including children 2 years of age and older, should wear a mask in all indoor public places. People with weakened immune systems, who are at increased risk of serious illness, also need to mask themselves.
- Get tested for COVID-19 1-2 days before celebrating with people from multiple households and from different parts of the country.
- If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with someone who has it,
stay at home. Don’t organize or attend a rally. - Small gatherings are better than large gatherings, which allows you to maintain social distancing.
- Communicate COVID-19 ground rules to guests, including pre- or post-gathering testing expectations, as well as vaccination or masking requirements.
- Meet outside when possible. Avoid crowded and poorly ventilated spaces. Meet
for a vacation stroll, flag football match, picnic or virtual cocktails can be a fun alternative
to a sit-down meal inside. - Wash your hands regularly.
